About MMS
A Master of Management Studies (MMS) is a two-year full-time postgraduate program, primarily affiliated with the University of Mumbai, that builds advanced management skills across core business functions. It's functionally very similar to an MBA — the two are largely equivalent in scope and recognition, with MMS being the more common designation at Mumbai University-affiliated institutes.
Admission to most MMS colleges is based on CET (MAH-CET), CAT, or CMAT scores, followed by group discussion and personal interview rounds. The first year covers broad management fundamentals, followed by an elective specialization, internship, and a final-year dissertation or major project.

MMS Entrance Exams
Admission to MMS colleges is almost entirely entrance-exam driven, with MAH-CET being the most widely used test for Maharashtra institutes. Many colleges also accept CAT or CMAT scores as an alternative route. Here's a quick look at what's relevant.
MAH-CET
Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MBA/MMS)
The primary entrance exam for MMS admission across Mumbai University-affiliated and other Maharashtra institutes, testing verbal ability, logical reasoning, and quantitative aptitude.
CAT
Common Admission Test
Accepted by several top MMS colleges alongside MAH-CET, particularly for institutes that also draw from a national applicant pool.
CMAT
Common Management Admission Test
Widely accepted for MMS admission as an alternative to MAH-CET, especially by AICTE-approved institutes, followed by group discussion and interview rounds.
