All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bibinagar (AIIMS Bibinagar), also referred to as AIIMS Hyderabad or AIIMS Telangana, is a premier central government medical institution established in 2019 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. It was set up under the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), an initiative aimed at correcting regional imbalances in the availability of affordable healthcare facilities and to augment facilities for quality medical education in the country. The institution is situated in the Rangapur and Kondamadugu villages of Bibinagar Mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District, Telangana — strategically located near the Hyderabad metropolitan region. The 200-acre campus is entirely purpose-built with modern infrastructure, providing a complete academic and clinical training environment within the campus itself. AIIMS Bibinagar initially commenced its first MBBS batch of 50 students in August 2019 under the mentorship of AIIMS Bhopal, before scaling to its current annual intake of 100 MBBS seats and now operating fully independently. The current Executive Director of AIIMS Bibinagar is Prof. (Dr.) Amita Aggarwal, who assumed charge recently. The institute has 31+ departments spanning all major medical and surgical specialties, offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and paramedical education. The College of Nursing at AIIMS Bibinagar provides B.Sc (Hons) Nursing with an annual intake of 30 seats. The institute also offers BSc Paramedical (Allied and Healthcare) courses across 7 disciplines with a total intake of 50 students. In postgraduate education, MD and MS programs are offered in 18+ specializations via the INI CET examination, admitting approximately 60-70 PG residents annually. The attached AIIMS Hospital, Bibinagar is a state-of-the-art tertiary care facility with modern diagnostic and treatment infrastructure. The hospital is equipped with modular operation theatres, advanced ICUs, trauma care, a Pradhan Mantri Janaushadhi Kendra (generic medicines outlet), and a full range of outpatient, inpatient, and emergency services. The hospital provides online appointment facilities to patients. Recently, drone delivery services were virtually launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at AIIMS Bibinagar, and a FibroScan facility was added for liver health assessment. For MBBS admissions, AIIMS Bibinagar participates in the centralized MCC NEET UG counselling. All 100 MBBS seats are offered under the All India Quota through MCC. The 2024 Round 1 closing rank for General category was 2,388, Round 2 was 2,530, and Round 3 was 2,588. For PG (MD/MS), admission is through INI CET — the INI (Institutes of National Importance) Common Entrance Test conducted by AIIMS Delhi. MD General Medicine closing rank in 2024 (General category) was approximately 210, and MS Orthopaedics closing rank was approximately 1,164.
