All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Vijaypur – popularly known as AIIMS Jammu – is a Central Government Institute of National Importance established in 2020 and officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February 2024 as part of the PMSSY (Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana) scheme. Located at Vijaypur, Samba District, Jammu & Kashmir (UT), approximately 27 km from Jammu Airport (IXJ), the institute is spread over a vast 227-acre campus on Railway Road, Vijaypur. AIIMS Vijaypur is governed by the AIIMS Act and functions as an autonomous institution directly under MoHFW, GoI. It admits 62 MBBS students annually (100% All India Quota via MCC – no state, management or NRI quota). PG admissions (37 MD + 5 MS + 2 MDS + 2 MCh = 46 seats) are via INI-CET conducted by AIIMS New Delhi. MBBS tuition fee is just ₹1,628/year (total course ₹5,856) – among the lowest in India. Total annual fees including hostel: ₹5,856 per year. MBBS interns receive ₹26,300/month stipend. No J&K state rural service bond (Central Government institution).
