Alluri Sitarama Raju Academy of Medical Sciences (ASRAM), popularly known as ASRAM Medical College, is one of the leading private medical institutions in Andhra Pradesh, established in 1999 as a non-profit society. It is named after the legendary freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju. Located in Malkapuram, Eluru — district headquarters of West Godavari district — the college sits adjacent to National Highway 5, 3 km from Eluru Railway Station and 35 km from Gannavaram (Vijayawada) Airport. The college was started in December 2000 with an initial MBBS intake of 100 students, expanded to 150 in 2009-10, and further to 250 from AY 2022-23, as approved by NMC. Spread over 100 acres of lush, pollution-free, tobacco-free and alcohol-free campus, ASRAM offers MBBS, MD, MS, Super Specialty, and PhD programs across 21+ departments. The 1,200-bed NABH-accredited, ISO-certified teaching hospital caters to 2,200+ outpatients daily with 17 operation theatres and round-the-clock ICU and laboratory services. ASRAM is recognized by NMC, approved by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, and is a designated NMC Regional Center for Medical Education Technologies. The NABL-accredited laboratories further distinguish the institution as a centre of excellence in South India.
