About APS College of Engineering

APS College of Engineering (APSCE), established in 1997 under the aegis of the A P S Educational Trust (a registered public trust since 1935), is a well-regarded private engineering institution situated on the sprawling 'Anantha Gnana Gangothri' Campus along the Bengaluru–Kanakapura Highway (NH-209), Somanahalli, approximately 26 km from the heart of Bengaluru city. APSCE is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, approved by AICTE, New Delhi, and accredited by NAAC. The institution is part of the APS Educational Trust (APSET), which runs 11 educational institutions spanning preschool to doctoral programs in Arts, Science, Commerce, and Engineering, making it a well-established educational ecosystem with over eight decades of legacy. Situated on a green, peaceful campus that currently spans over 60 to 100 acres on the outskirts of Bengaluru, APSCE offers a serene and focused academic environment away from the city's bustle while remaining well-connected via the Kanakapura Highway. The campus includes modern academic buildings, well-equipped laboratories, a resourceful library with approximately 24,000 books and 48 national and international journals, separate hostels for boys and girls, a canteen, playgrounds, and transport facilities. Academically, APSCE offers seven undergraduate B.E. programs: Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Information Science and Engineering (ISE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Civil Engineering (CE), CSE in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI&ML), and CSE in Cyber Security. Each branch has an AICTE-approved annual intake of 60 seats, totaling approximately 420 UG seats per year. At the postgraduate level, the institute offers MBA (60 seats) and MCA programs, as well as research (Ph.D.) programs in five departments — CSE, ECE, ME, CE, and Physics. The institution also runs M.Tech programs in CSE. The faculty at APSCE is experienced and PhD-qualified or pursuing doctorates, with each department having at least 3 faculty members holding PhDs. The total faculty strength is approximately 70 members. The student-to-faculty ratio is manageable, enabling reasonable academic support. The college runs 5 Research Centers in CSE, ECE, ME, CE, and Physics, and has received a commitment letter of INR 2.31 crores for a humanoid robotics project from DRDO — highlighting its growing engagement with cutting-edge national research initiatives. Admission to BE programs is through KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) for Karnataka domicile students, COMEDK UGET for all India students, and the Management Quota. For PG programs (MBA, MCA, M.Tech), admission is through Karnataka PGCET / GATE. KCET 2025 closing ranks for General category (1G) ranged from approximately 60,122 (CSE) to over 2,00,000 (Civil Engineering). COMEDK UGET 2025 closing ranks ranged from approximately 73,500 to 1,11,599 across all branches. Placements at APSCE are facilitated by a dedicated Training and Placement Cell that maintains industry connections and conducts aptitude, communication, group discussion, and interview training from the pre-final year. As per available 2024–25 data, the highest package was INR 12 LPA, the average package was approximately INR 4.5 LPA, and the minimum was INR 2.8 LPA. Top recruiters visiting the campus include BOSCH, TCS, Infosys, HCL, IBM, Wipro, Cognizant, Delta X, Hitachi, J.P. Morgan, ZOHO, Amazon, Accenture, Sonata Software, and Microland. The placement rate is approximately 80–85% of participating students. The campus infrastructure includes air-conditioned and well-furnished classrooms, specialized labs for each engineering stream, a digital library, seminar halls, an open auditorium, NSS and Youth Red Cross units, a sports ground, and gym facilities. APSCE has been recognized as a Nodal Centre under the National Mission on Education through ICT (NME-ICT) with NITK Surathkal as the mentor institute. The institution has also been honored by the Edulateral Foundation for its dedication to higher education. APS College of Engineering is a practical choice for students from Karnataka seeking affordable, accessible engineering education with consistent placement outcomes, active research engagement, and a peaceful campus environment in Bengaluru.
