Autonomous State Medical College, Kushinagar (ASMC Kushinagar) is a government medical college established in 2024 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh as part of its initiative to establish medical colleges across all districts of UP. Located at Pakri Buzurg, Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh – 274402, the college is affiliated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), Lucknow, and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Principal is Prof. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Shahi, MD (Internal Medicine), formerly of BRD Medical College Gorakhpur and GMC Kannauj with 19 years of clinical experience. With 100 NMC-approved MBBS seats, ASMC Kushinagar is attached to a 330+ bed government District Combined Hospital, Kushinagar, providing broad clinical exposure in General Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, OBG, Orthopaedics, and other specialties. The college has 50+ qualified teaching faculty across departments. The campus features modern lecture halls, equipped laboratories, a central library with digital resources, a skill lab, and separate single and double-occupancy hostels for boys and girls. Admissions are through NEET-UG via UP State counselling (DMET) and MCC All India Quota. ASMC Kushinagar aims to become an apex medical centre in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
