Autonomous State Medical College, Sonebhadra (ASMC Sonebhadra) is a government medical college established in 2024 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Located in the beautiful hilly surroundings of Rounp village, Robertsganj, Sonebhadra, on a sprawling 100-acre campus, the college is affiliated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), Lucknow, and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC). With 100 MBBS seats from the 2024-25 session, ASMC Sonebhadra is the only medical college in Sonebhadra — the largest district in UP by area — serving the tribal and rural population of eastern Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring Vindhya region. The attached 300+ bed government teaching hospital provides clinical training across General Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, OBG, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Radiology, ENT, Ophthalmology, and Anaesthesiology. The 100-acre integrated campus features modern smart classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, a large dissection hall, a comprehensive central library with IT resources, and separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, sports amenities, and a cafeteria.
