Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Government Medical College, Durg (CCMGMC or CCMGMC Durg) is a government medical college located at Kachandur, Kurud Road, Durg, Chhattisgarh. The college is named after Shri Chandulal Chandrakar, a noted journalist, politician, and prominent public figure from the Durg-Bhilai region of Chhattisgarh. The institution was originally established as a private, self-funded medical college in July 2013 with an initial intake of 150 MBBS students per year. It was the first private medical college of Chhattisgarh. In 2021, the Government of Chhattisgarh successfully acquired the college, converting it into a government institution. Following acquisition, the annual MBBS intake was increased to 200 seats โ the highest intake of any medical college in Chhattisgarh. The college is affiliated with Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences and Ayush University of Chhattisgarh, Raipur, and is recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC), New Delhi. Admission is conducted through the NTA-conducted NEET UG examination, followed by CG state counselling by DME Raipur for the 85% state quota and MCC counselling for the 15% AIQ. The campus spans approximately 25 acres and houses a building footprint of approximately 13 lakh sq. ft. It has fully equipped departmental laboratories for all pre-clinical and para-clinical departments, dedicated lecture halls for each department, a central library, seminar halls, departmental museums (including an Anatomy museum and dissection hall), Wi-Fi campus connectivity, a separate auditorium, sports facilities, and separate boys and girls hostels. The college is attached to a 750-bed on-campus hospital for tertiary care and clinical training. Additionally, the Durg District Hospital has been attached since December 2021 for supplementary clinical exposure. All OPDs have demonstration rooms with white boards, X-ray view boxes, examination couches, and 30 seats. All indoor wards similarly have demonstration rooms for bedside teaching. The college has an active OPD running in a separate building in one shift, unit-wise daily (except Sundays and holidays).
