An independent education ranking portal placed the university at 239th out of 370 colleges in 2025 (moving to 297th out of 350 in 2026), while India Today's overall institutional ranking placed it 32nd out of 178 colleges in 2021. These positions have shifted across cycles as methodologies and the competitive set of institutes evaluated have changed year to year.

Accreditation Status

DBS Global University is recognised by the UGC under Sections 22 and 2(f), is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and its individual schools carry sector-specific statutory approvals from AICTE, the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and the Bar Council of India (BCI). The university's Doon Business School additionally holds AACSB membership, an internationally recognised business-education accreditation body. As the university was only granted its status in 2024, its formal NAAC accreditation position should be verified directly with the institution, and candidates are advised to verify the current NAAC status directly with the institution.

Since B-school and university survey methodologies differ from one publication to another and rankings can shift meaningfully year to year, prospective students are encouraged to treat these listings as one input among several, alongside the university's actual placement outcomes and its fee structure, when comparing DBS Global University against other private universities in Uttarakhand and North India.

Because the institution transitioned from a standalone business school into a multidisciplinary university only in 2024, several of its historical rankings (from before the conversion) reflect its earlier identity as Doon Business School rather than the full university's current, broader academic footprint across engineering, law, pharmacy and agriculture; newer rankings that specifically evaluate the university as a whole are expected to be published as more admission cycles are completed under its current structure.
