Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science & Technology (DCRUST), Murthal, is a state government university in Sonipat, Haryana, established on 6th November 2006 by upgrading the erstwhile Chhotu Ram State College of Engineering, Murthal (CRSCE), which had been founded in 1986 in memory of the great agrarian leader and social reformer Sir Chhotu Ram (1881–1945). The university was created through Act 29 of 2006 of the Haryana Legislature with the vision to facilitate and promote studies and research in emerging areas of higher education with focus on new frontiers of science, engineering, technology, architecture, management, and humanities. It has been eligible for UGC grants under Section 12(B) since March 2009. Situated on NH-44, just 50 km from Delhi ISBT and 8 km from Sonipat Railway Station, DCRUST occupies a sprawling lush-green 273-acre campus free from pollution. The university is accredited 'A' grade by NAAC, has six NBA-accredited B.Tech programmes, is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), and has signed numerous MOUs with universities and research institutes globally. DCRUST is an affiliating university for technical and professional colleges in Sonipat district. It has 7 hostels (4 for boys: capacity 966; 3 for girls: capacity 450), a central library, state-of-the-art laboratories, a Central Instrumentation Laboratory available for multi-departmental and external researchers, sports complex, and a dedicated training and placement cell. The university offers 17 departments across Engineering, Architecture, Sciences, Management, Education, and Humanities, and runs 10 UG and 31 PG programmes in addition to Ph.D. programmes in all departments.

B.Tech admission at DCRUST requires a valid JEE Main score. Admissions are conducted through Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES) online counselling.
