About Dhubri Medical College, Dhubri
Dhubri Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), established 2022, is the 9th government medical college in Assam and the first in Dhubri District. Located on R.K. Mission Road, Jhagrarpar, Dhubri – 783324, approximately 290 km from Dispur (state capital). Established under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme for new medical colleges attached to existing district referral hospitals. Foundation stone: 17 February 2017 by J.P. Nadda (Union Health Minister), Sarbananda Sonowal (CM), Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma (Health Minister). 108 Bighas of land on the banks of Brahmaputra. Affiliated with SSUHS; NMC approved. 100 MBBS seats. Teaching hospital: 500-bed multi-specialty Dhubri District Hospital (DMCH Hospital). Located close to India-Bangladesh international border and West Bengal state border. Serves the lower Assam region. Rupshi Airport 15 km away. 290 km from Dispur. Dhubri is culturally rich — home to Gurudwara, Panchpir Dargaha, Terracotta of Asharikandi, Mahamaya Dham, Mosque of Rangamati. River Brahmaputra flows East to West, creating riverine islands.
