ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Basaidarapur, New Delhi (officially ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Basaidarapur; formerly ESI Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences and Research – ESI PGIMSR, New Delhi) is a premier tertiary care institution and medical college in West Delhi, established under the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) of India, which functions under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India. The ESI Hospital at Basaidarapur was established in 1971 as an ESI Model Hospital to provide comprehensive medical care to Insured Persons (IPs) and their families under the ESI Act of 1948. In the academic year 2010-11, post-graduate teaching and training was started under ESI PGIMSR New Delhi. The institute was progressively upgraded and in 2025, the National Medical Commission granted Letter of Permission (LOP) for the first batch of 50 MBBS students — formally converting it into ESIC Medical College & Hospital. The institute is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), New Delhi and recognised by NMC. ESIC Medical College Basaidarapur is a 600-bedded multi-specialty hospital that provides quality medical care across a wide range of clinical specialties to insured persons, their families, and staff. It is one of the largest multi-specialty ESIC hospitals in India. ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Basaidarapur received the Letter of Permission (LOP) from NMC for admitting the first batch of 50 MBBS students in AY 2025-26 — making 2025 the inauguration of the MBBS programme. Prior to this, the institute operated as ESI Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (ESI PGIMSR) offering only MD/MS PG courses since 2011. The hospital itself has been operational since 1971. The inaugural MBBS intake is 50 seats. The MBBS programme runs in the same 600-bed multi-specialty hospital campus.
ESIC Medical College (being a Central Government institution under Ministry of Labour) does NOT impose a formal compulsory rural service bond like most state government colleges. There is no mandatory bond for either MBBS or PG graduates.
