About Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal
Gandhi Medical College (GMC), Bhopal, one of Central India's most prestigious government medical institutions, was inaugurated on 13 August 1955 by Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and is the first medical college of Madhya Pradesh's capital city. Located within the historic Fatehgarh Fort campus on Sultania Road, the college is an autonomous body under the Department of Medical Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh, and affiliated with Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University (MPMSU). GMC Bhopal offers 250 MBBS seats annually, 165 postgraduate MD/MS seats across 22 disciplines, 4 super-specialty DM/MCh seats in 3 disciplines (M.Ch Paediatric Surgery, M.Ch Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, DM in relevant specialty), and 6 PG Diploma seats.
