Gautam Buddha University (GBU), located in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, is one of the premier state government universities in the Delhi-NCR region. Established by the Uttar Pradesh Gautam Buddha University Act 2002 (UP Act No. 9 of 2002), the university commenced its first academic session in August 2008 on a sprawling 511-acre lush green campus adjacent to the Yamuna Expressway. Fully funded by the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) and the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), both undertakings of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, GBU has grown into a comprehensive teaching and research institution recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 12-B and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a B+ grade. GBU offers more than 144 programs across undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, diploma, and certificate levels. Academic disciplines span Engineering and Technology, Management, Law, Computer Applications, Architecture and Planning, Biotechnology, Applied Sciences, Social Work, Education, Journalism and Mass Communication, and Buddhist Studies and Civilization. The university's flagship programs include B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, MBA with specializations in Business Analytics & Data Science, and the Integrated Dual Degree in Architecture. Admissions are conducted through GBU-ET (Gautam Buddha University Entrance Test) and national-level examinations such as JEE Main, GATE, CLAT, CUET, and CMAT. The placement cell connects students with 150+ companies annually. In 2024, Microsoft offered the highest package of INR 51 LPA. The Eklavya Sports Complex, spread over 58 acres, includes a cricket stadium, astro-turf hockey stadium, synthetic athletics track, basketball and volleyball arenas, tennis courts, and an indoor stadium. GBU has 12 boys' hostels and 6 girls' hostels with a total capacity for 5,000+ students.
