Situated strategically on NH-64 linking Chandigarh to Bathinda and onwards to Rajasthan, the college benefits from excellent road connectivity. The campus is 35 km from Chandigarh (which also has a railhead and the Chandigarh International Airport), and just 8 km from Rajpura Railway Junction — one of the closest railway stations to any medical college campus in Punjab. GSMCH is affiliated with Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The teaching hospital is NABH-accredited, reflecting quality patient care standards and benefiting students with structured, high-quality clinical training in a recognized healthcare environment. A state-of-the-art OT complex with modular OTs, CSD, and recovery facilities ensures comprehensive surgical training.
