GMERS Medical College and Hospital, Morbi is a newly established government-society medical institution functioning since November 2022 under the Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society (GMERS), managed by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Gujarat. It was established under the Central Sponsored Scheme for Establishment of New Medical Colleges attached with existing District/Referral Hospitals under Phase III — a Government of India initiative to expand government medical colleges across the country and bring down the doctor-patient ratio from 1:2500 to 1:1000. The college is affiliated with Saurashtra University, Rajkot — one of the premier universities of the Saurashtra-Kutch region — and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). GMERS Morbi currently admits 100 MBBS students annually. Located in the city of Morbi — the globally renowned 'Ceramic City' and 'Clock City' of Saurashtra, Gujarat — the college campus is situated at the Gibson Middle School Campus, opposite Morbi Railway Station, Morbi–363641. The campus is strategically accessible: Morbi Railway Station is directly across (approximately 500 metres away), and Morbi Bus Stand is approximately 1.5 km from the campus. Morbi is connected to Rajkot (65 km, ~1 hour) and Ahmedabad (200 km, ~3 hours) by road. The nearest airports are Rajkot Airport (~65 km, ~1 hour 15 minutes) and Bhuj Airport (~100 km, ~1.5 hours).
