GMERS Medical College and Hospital, Rajpipla is a premier government-society medical institution established in 2022 under the Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society (GMERS), which is managed by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Gujarat. The college received its Letter of Permission from the National Medical Commission (NMC), New Delhi on 18th August 2022 for the MBBS programme with an annual intake of 100 students, and welcomed its inaugural batch of MBBS students in October 2022. The college is affiliated with Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU), Surat — the premier university of South Gujarat — and follows the NMC-mandated Competency Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum. The hospital currently has approximately 300–354 beds across major departments including General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Radiodiagnosis, ENT, Ophthalmology, Anaesthesiology, Pathology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine (TB and Respiratory), Community Medicine, and Dentistry. The hospital operates 24×7 emergency services and actively conducts community health camps and public health initiatives for the surrounding Narmada district, including rural and tribal populations — providing students with exposure to both clinical and community medicine from the early phases of their MBBS. Hostel facilities are provided separately for boys and girls within or adjacent to the campus.
