Goa Institute of Management (GIM) is a private, standalone AICTE-approved business school established on 2nd August 1993 under the founding leadership of Late Fr. Romuald D'Souza, beginning with 6 faculty members, a single programme, and an intake of 24 students. The Institute moved to its current 50-acre, fully residential campus at Poriem, Sattari, Goa in 2010. GIM's flagship offering is the two-year, full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), recognised as equivalent to an MBA by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), renewed till 2029. Alongside the flagship PGDM, GIM offers specialised full-time PGDM tracks in Healthcare Management (HCM, launched 2013), Big Data Analytics (BDA, launched 2018), and Banking, Insurance and Financial Services (BIFS, launched 2020); a part-time/hybrid PGDM for working executives (launched 2022); and a doctoral Fellow Programme in Management (FPM, launched 2020). As per NIRF 2025 (Ministry of Education, GoI), GIM is ranked 43rd in India under the Management category; its Hybrid PGDM is ranked #7 in India and #30 in Asia-Pacific for Executive MBA by QS EMBA Rankings 2025, and #1 in the world for Class Experience / #3 in India / #13 in Asia-Pacific by QS Online MBA Rankings 2025. GIM also holds 3 Palmes of Excellence from Eduniversal, ranking #2 among 3-Palmes League institutions in India and among the Top 50 business schools nationally in 2025. Admission to the full-time PGDM programmes requires a minimum of 50% aggregate in a Bachelor's degree (45% for SC/ST) and a valid CAT 2025, XAT 2026, or GMAT (taken between 1 January 2024 and 15 January 2026) score, followed by an Achiever's Round or Regular Round shortlisting, a Written Aptitude Test (WAT), and a face-to-face Personal Interview. Selection is purely merit-based: 40% weight to the objective exam score, 15% past academic record, 10% work experience, 30% face-to-face evaluation, and 5% profile/diversity assessment; GIM states it accepts no donations or payments of any kind for admission. For the 2026-28 batch, the total academic fee for full-time PGDM/HCM/BDA/BIFS is Rs.21,45,000, payable across four instalments (Rs.50,000 + Rs.4,90,000 in Mar-Jun 2026, Rs.5,30,000 in Oct 2026, and Rs.10,75,000 in Jun 2027); a refundable caution deposit of Rs.25,000 is additional (Rs.5,000 of which converts to GIM Alumni Association membership fee on graduation). The Hybrid PGDM (2024-26 batch, subject to revision) is billed termwise (Rs.1,50,000 + Rs.1,20,000 x 3 terms). The FPM (2024-2028 batch) charges a nominal annual registration fee of Rs.10,000, a refundable caution deposit of Rs.10,000, and a one-time thesis submission fee of Rs.2,000. GIM offers Academic Competence and Excellence Scholarships (ACCESS) worth Rs.5,00,000 each across its PGDM tracks (45 for PGDM, 21 for BDA, 7 each for HCM as GIM-MBBS Scholarship and BIFS), plus Full Tuition Fee Waivers (up to 5% of admitted students, for family income below Rs.8 lakh/annum; Rs.13,80,000 tuition component waived for 2026-28 batch). Multiple partner banks (Bank of India, SBI, HDFC Credila, Canara Bank, IDFC First Bank, Axis Bank, Punjab National Bank) offer education loans to GIM students. On placements, GIM's official Placement Reports (2024-26 batch, PGDM) show a highest package of 35 LPA, 50 Pre-Placement Offers, and a highest internship stipend of Rs.3,00,000, with 110+ recruiters visiting across Financial Services (25.38%), IT (15.91%), Banking (12.88%), Consulting (12.5%), and FMCG/FMCD (12.5%) sectors; the home page separately cites 15.61% of PGDM students receiving PPOs and a 32.2 LPA highest package for the current placement season. The 284-student PGDM (2024-26) batch, 60-student HCM batch, 172-student BDA batch, and 71-student BIFS batch each have individually published Placement Reports (2021 through 2026) and lists of placed students on the official site. The campus features a library with 24,800+ management books, access to 50,000+ online journals, and subscriptions to Bloomberg Terminals, Thomson Reuters Eikon, CMIE, EBSCO, ProQuest, JSTOR, Science Direct and more; a Finance Lab (Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters Eikon, CMIE, Capitaline, CRISIL Fund Analyser); a Behavioural Lab; and a Data Science Lab equipped with Microsoft Azure, SAS, Tableau, and Power BI. Residential facilities include 9 hostels accommodating 800+ students (first-year students in double-occupancy rooms, second-year in single-occupancy), a swimming pool, gym, football ground, basketball and volleyball courts, two lawn tennis courts, and 25+ student clubs across academic, cultural and sporting interests. On-campus mental health support is provided by dedicated Psychiatrists and Counsellors alongside a partnership with online counselling provider YourDOST.
