GACH Guwahati offers comprehensive academic and clinical facilities including a two-storey Central Library (operational since 2008), a State-Level Ayurvedic Pharmacy, Drug Testing Laboratory, Central Research Laboratory, Medicinal Plant Garden, Dissection Hall, Panchakarma Unit, Radiology Unit (X-Ray, USG, ECG), General and Eye Operation Theatres, Auditorium, Seminar Hall, IT Centre, College Canteen, College Bus, and department-wise practical labs. The attached hospital offers 150-bed IPD, OPD services, 24-hour casualty, DOT's Cell, NRHM Unit, Neonatal Baby Stabilisation Unit, and Immunisation Unit.

The BAMS annual intake at GACH Guwahati is 63 seats, which includes 6 seats reserved for students from other Northeast Indian states (1 per state). The remaining seats are filled through Assam state quota and All India quota (AACCC) counselling based on NEET scores.

Since 30th July 2010, Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Guwahati is affiliated with Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, Assam. Prior to this, the college was affiliated with Gauhati University, Assam. The college follows the syllabus and curriculum prescribed by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM).

Based on 2025 AACCC All India Quota counselling data, the closing AIR for Open category was 72,551 (Round 2), for EWS was 73,758, for OBC was 76,225, and for SC was 212,241. State quota cut-offs are determined separately by the Directorate of AYUSH, Assam. Cut-offs vary each year based on NEET performance and seat availability.
