About Government Medical College, Akola
Government Medical College, Akola (GMC Akola) was established in 2002 as the first medical college in the Akola region of Vidarbha, Maharashtra. It is affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Administered by the Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DMER), Government of Maharashtra, GMC Akola provides health care services to the underprivileged population of four districts surrounding Akola. The campus is a lush green area housing the college, administrative office, and hostel buildings. It offers spacious classrooms, lecture halls, examination halls, demonstration rooms, fully equipped clinical laboratories, museums, and an auditorium with a capacity of 700.
