Government Medical College, Ambernath (GMC Ambernath) is a newly established government medical institution, granted Letter of Permission by the National Medical Commission (NMC) on 03/10/2024 for 100 MBBS seats for AY 2024-25. Located at Survey No. 128, Jambhulgaon Road, Ambernath (West), Thane District — it is the first and only government medical college in Thane district, one of the most populous districts in Maharashtra and part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, and operated under DMER, Government of Maharashtra, GMC Ambernath has been established to bridge the critical gap in quality medical education and healthcare services in the rapidly developing MMR. The college campus features modern smart classrooms, state-of-the-art laboratories, a central library, and separate hostel facilities for boys and girls with mess, laundry, internet, and 24x7 security. The attached multi-specialty government teaching hospital (430+ beds) provides hands-on OPD/IPD training and emergency care practice for students.
