About Government Medical College, Buldhana
Government Medical College, Buldhana (GMC Buldhana) was established on 14th July 2023 by the Government of Maharashtra as one of eight new government medical colleges in the state. NMC Letter of Permission for 100 MBBS seats was received on 3rd October 2024, and admissions commenced from AY 2024-25. Located at District Women Hospital, T.B. Hospital Campus, Dhad Road, Buldhana — 443001 — the college is affiliated to MUHS Nashik and governed by DMER, Government of Maharashtra. It is the first and only government medical college in Buldhana district, part of the western Vidarbha region. Buldhana district is famous for the Gajanan Maharaj Temple at Shegaon, the Meteorite Lake (Lonar crater) — one of only four hypervеlocity impact craters in basalt rock in the world — and is situated just 60 km from the world-famous Ajanta Caves. The college is situated in Buldhana city — the district headquarters — located in the Sahyadri hill ranges with pleasant weather (typically 2°C cooler than surrounding cities). The college is attached to two hospitals: District Civil Hospital Buldhana and District Women Hospital Buldhana, with a combined bed strength of 420+ beds, providing comprehensive clinical exposure and 24×7 facilities for patient care, training, teaching and research. The total first-year MBBS fee for AY 2025-26 is INR 1,66,280 for Open/AIQ students — among the most affordable in Maharashtra. Fees are paid only via Demand Draft; no cash/cheque/online payment accepted. Service bond of 1 year (INR 10 lakh penalty if not fulfilled) is mandatory and executed on INR 500 bond paper.
