About Government Medical College, Doda
Government Medical College (GMC), Doda was established in 2020 as a fully tertiary referral government medical college in Doda district – the main district of the remote and scenic Chenab Valley in Jammu division, J&K UT. The college is affiliated with the University of Jammu and recognised by NMC. Built on a 20-acre campus, it offers 100 MBBS seats annually (JKBOPEE 2024-25: 85 UT Quota + 15 AIQ). The campus features airy, bright, well-ventilated academic buildings housing departments, classrooms, library, labs, departmental museums, gymnasium, playground, and mess facilities. The hostel is under construction; temporary accommodation arrangements are in place. The associated Government Hospital Doda is one of the largest tertiary care hospitals in the Chenab Valley with 300+ beds, 24×7 emergency and trauma care, Eye Bank, and Blood Bank. Paramedical courses including B.Sc Nursing are also offered through a Govt. Nursing College, Kishtwar (affiliated). MBBS fee: 1st year ₹26,250; total ~₹1,22,000. Government Hospital Doda (300+ Beds – Teaching Hospital)
300+ bed tertiary referral hospital for Chenab Valley. 24×7 Emergency, Trauma, ICU. Eye Bank, Blood Bank. All major clinical departments. Serves Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Bhaderwah. Mountainous terrain = unique high-altitude and trauma clinical exposure.

Library
Well-stocked library with medical textbooks, journals, digital resources. NIT for supply of Books and Journals published (per official website – active procurement).

Sports & Recreation
Playground and gymnasium on 20-acre campus. Beautiful Chenab Valley mountain landscape. Doda has breathtaking Himalayan surroundings.

Hostel
Under construction. Temporary accommodation arrangements in place. Manager Hostel post filled (per official selection list). Boys and girls hostels will be separate. Fee nominal when operational.
