About Government Medical College, Eluru
Government Medical College, Eluru (GMC Eluru) is a newly established state-run government medical college founded in 2023 in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh — the administrative headquarters of West Godavari district. Established under the AP Government's 'Nadu-Nedu' revitalisation programme to build 17 new medical colleges across Andhra Pradesh. Affiliated with Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The college currently offers MBBS with 150 seats per year and is attached to Government General Hospital, Eluru (400–500 beds). No PG seats have been sanctioned yet; NMC approval for PG courses is anticipated.

Teaching Hospital (GGH Eluru)
Government General Hospital (GGH), Eluru — a tertiary care facility upgraded to 400–500 bed capacity under the Nadu-Nedu programme. Students rotate through General Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, OBG, Orthopaedics, ENT, Psychiatry, Radiology, and Emergency Medicine.
Boys Hostel
Separate multi-story hostel building for male students within campus. Rooms equipped with bed, study table, chair, and individual cupboard. Wi-Fi enabled premises with 24/7 water and electricity. Dedicated housekeeping and round-the-clock security with CCTV surveillance.

GMC Eluru is a state-run government medical college established in 2023 in Eluru, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. It is affiliated with Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC). It was set up under the AP Government's 'Nadu-Nedu' programme.
The college offers 150 MBBS seats per year, as permitted by the NMC for AY 2024-25.
Category A (Convenor/Govt): ₹15,000/year + ₹10,600 one-time university fee. Category B (Management): ₹12,00,000/year + ₹25,000 one-time university fee. Category C (NRI): ₹20,00,000/year + ₹65,600 one-time university fee. Hostel, mess and miscellaneous charges are extra.
As of AY 2024-25, GMC Eluru only offers MBBS. PG (MD/MS) courses have not yet been sanctioned. NMC approval for postgraduate programmes is anticipated in the coming years.
