About Government Medical College & Hospital, Baramati

Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Government Medical College & Hospital, Baramati (PAHGMC / GMC Baramati) was established in May 2019 in MIDC Area, Baramati, Pune district. Named after Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar — the revered 18th-century Maratha queen and social reformer — the college is affiliated to MUHS Nashik, approved by NMC, and administered by DMER, Government of Maharashtra. It is one of Maharashtra's newer government medical colleges and the only government medical college in Baramati taluka, Pune district. The college campus is a large facility with a building area of approximately 2,50,000 sq. ft. The hospital is attached with 500+ beds, 800–900+ daily OPD patients, and 24×7 emergency services with duty doctors and specialist coverage. The service bond (INR 10 lakh penalty) and a prohibition from going abroad for 5 years from MBBS degree date are both mandatory.
