About Government Medical College, Kota
Government Medical College, Kota (GMC Kota) is one of Rajasthan's premier government medical institutions, established in March 1992 with its first batch starting in 1992-93 at ESI Hospital, Jhalawar Road. It shifted to its dedicated 191.53-acre campus on Rangbari Road in 1997. Affiliated with Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS), Jaipur, and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC), GMC Kota offers 250 MBBS seats, 186 PG (MD/MS) seats across 16+ disciplines, and 12 super-speciality (DM/MCh) seats — making it one of the largest and most comprehensive government medical colleges in Rajasthan. The college is attached to multiple teaching hospitals including Maharao Bhim Singh (MBS) Hospital with 750+ beds, JK Lone Mother and Child Hospital, and the Super Speciality Block, together providing 1,000+ teaching beds and 5,000+ daily OPD patients. The sprawling campus houses a 2,000 sq.mt central library, E-classrooms, a Multi Disciplinary Research Unit, Boys' and Girls' UG/PG/Intern hostels, auditorium, gymnasium, and SBI bank branch.
