GMC Mumbai is the newest government medical college in Mumbai, established in 2024 and attached to the iconic Gokuldas Tejpal (GT) Hospital — Mumbai's free government hospital since 1875 — at L.T. GMC Mumbai (GT Hospital) is very new (est. 2024) with only 50 seats — no alumni base yet. Established Mumbai government colleges (Grant MC, KEM, Sion, Nair, Cooper) are far more established with higher capacity (150–250 seats) and stronger track records. However, GT Hospital's 150-year heritage, South Mumbai location, small batch size (intimate learning), and proximity to premium private hospitals make it unique. Cutoff will be very high due to Mumbai demand.
