Government Medical College & General Hospital, Ramagundam — also known as Singareni Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) — is a government medical college established in 2022, located at Malkapur village, Ramagundam Mandal, Peddapalli District, Telangana. It is affiliated with Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal, and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) with an annual intake of 150 MBBS seats. The college was established by the Government of Telangana with funding and land support from Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) to expand medical education access in the industrial Godavari valley coalfields region of northern Telangana. The institute is spread across a 21-acre campus housing Pre-Clinical and Para-Clinical academic blocks, Boys' and Girls' hostels, residential blocks, a library, and lecture theatres. The teaching hospital — Government General Hospital, Ramagundam — occupies an additional 14.2 acres (10 + 4.2 acres) and provides comprehensive tertiary-care clinical training. Ramagundam is the largest city in Peddapalli District, home to one of India's largest thermal power stations (NTPC Ramagundam), approximately 225 km northeast of Hyderabad and 65 km from Karimnagar.
