About Government Medical College, Siddipet
Government Medical College, Siddipet (GMC Siddipet) is a state-run government medical college and one of the most well-established new-generation government medical colleges in Telangana. Established in 2018, it is the second government medical college established after the formation of Telangana as a separate state. Located at Survey No. 54, Ensanpalli Village, Siddipet District, the college campus spans 50 acres and was constructed at a cost of ₹700 crores — one of the most ambitiously funded new GMCs in India. Construction was completed in a remarkable 5.5 months. The college received MCI permission in January 2018 with an initial intake of 150 MBBS seats, later expanded to 175 (including 25 EWS seats) from 2019. GMC Siddipet is affiliated with Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal, and approved by NMC. As of 2025, the college has 850 MBBS students across 5 batches of 175 each, and 150 interns. Postgraduate MD/MS courses in 16 broad specialties (75 seats) have been approved by NMC, with a Government of Telangana Postgraduate Quota and KNRUHS-conducted counselling. B.Sc (Allied Sciences) and paramedical courses are also offered. The attached Government General Hospital (GGH) Siddipet provides free specialist services to the rural and semi-urban population of Siddipet district, with a T-Diagnostic Hub (expanding from 57 to 134 lab tests), telemedicine (7,124+ consultations since 2021), a de-addiction ward, NCD programme, and a 900-bed new hospital under construction featuring an Oncology block, Cath Lab, and Level 1 Trauma Care. Faculty has published 258+ research papers and completed/ongoing 62 research projects. An ICMR Multidisciplinary Research Unit (MRU) and National Emergency Life Skills (NELS) centre have been sanctioned to the institution.
