About Government Medical College, Suryapet
Government Medical College, Suryapet (GMC Suryapet) is a state-run government medical institution established in 2019 by the Government of Telangana, located at Amaravadi Nagar, Tallagadda, Suryapet – 508213. Affiliated with Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal, and recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC), GMC Suryapet offers 150 MBBS seats per year. The institution is situated on a 21.14-acre campus with good road and rail connectivity — Suryapet is located approximately 140 km southeast of Hyderabad on NH-65 (Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway). The campus features spacious lecture halls (150-seat capacity), demonstration rooms, examination halls, fully-equipped departmental laboratories, museums, and a comprehensive central library with Indian and foreign journals, separate reading spaces for students and faculty, and a digital library. Separate boys and girls hostels with capacity for 1,000 students spread over 1 acre are available within the campus. Postgraduate MD/MS courses were started in 2022 in 9 departments (23 seats) and have been expanded to 16 departments including new clinical subjects from 2024: Obstetrics & Gynaecology (4), ENT (4), Orthopaedics (4), Pathology (4), Anaesthesia (4), Paediatrics (4), and Pulmonology (4). B.Sc Allied Health Sciences courses were started in 4 departments with 40 students from 2023 (3rd batch). The Department of Pharmacology has been identified as an Adverse Drug Monitoring Centre (ADMC) by the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, Ghaziabad. The 5th batch of MBBS students (2023-24) has successfully completed their studies. The college conducts Curriculum Implementation Support Programme (CISP), Revised Basic Course Workshops (RBCW), and Social Awareness Programs as part of its academic outreach.

Adverse Drug Monitoring Centre (ADMC)
Designated by the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), Ghaziabad, as part of the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI). Housed in the Department of Pharmacology. Monitors and reports adverse drug reactions from the GGH Suryapet patient population.
Government General Hospital (GGH) Suryapet
Teaching hospital serving the Suryapet and Nalgonda region. 500+ beds with OPD, IPD, 24x7 emergency services, ICU, NICU, blood bank, diagnostic laboratory (24x7), pharmacy (24x7), and radiological services (X-Ray, USG, CT Scan). Free specialist services to all patients.
