Bharat Ratna Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Memorial Government Medical College (ABVMGMC), Rajnandgaon, is a government medical college established in 2014 by the Government of Chhattisgarh, named in honour of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. It is affiliated with Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences and Ayush University of Chhattisgarh, Raipur, and is recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The college offers MBBS (125 seats) and MD/MS postgraduate programmes. The attached 535-bed multi-specialty hospital is a government tertiary care institution serving Rajnandgaon, Mohla-Manpur, Khairagarh, and surrounding districts. The hospital handles 1,500+ outpatients daily and has 10 functional operation theatres distributed department-wise. A 240-bed COVID Hospital and a well-established Virology Lab are also functional within the campus. A Central Research Lab is operational to support clinical and basic sciences research. An Integrated Health Clinic promoting lifestyle modification through Yoga is a unique feature of the campus. The campus spans 20 acres (some sources cite 50 acres for the full hospital+college complex) at Atal Vihar Colony, Pendri, Rajnandgaon.
