Most undergraduate programmes admit students through CUET-UG conducted by the National Testing Agency, while postgraduate programmes such as MA, M.Sc, M.Com, MBA and MCA rely on CUET-PG. Admission Process at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya
For B.Tech, the university accepts only JEE Main scores. Seats across ten branches are allotted through JoSAA counselling, and any vacant seats are filled during the CSAB special rounds. There is no management quota and no NRI quota at the university, so every seat is offered on merit. Candidates need Physics and Mathematics in Class 12 along with the other subject combinations prescribed under the JoSAA eligibility rules.
M.Tech admission is based on GATE scores through CCMT counselling, and M.Pharm admission is based on GPAT. The MBA programme, which has 60 seats, requires at least 50 percent marks in graduation and a valid CUET-PG score. Programmes such as B.Ed, M.Ed, B.P.Ed, M.P.Ed and the law degrees follow the entrance or merit route notified by the university in that particular session.
- Register for the relevant entrance examination (CUET-UG, CUET-PG, JEE Main, GATE or GPAT)
- Fill the counselling or university application form on the official portal
- Choose programmes and preferences in order of priority
- Check the merit list or seat allotment result
- Report to the university with original documents for verification
- Pay the admission fee online to confirm the seat
Documents normally needed include the entrance scorecard, Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets, graduation mark sheets for postgraduate candidates, a category certificate where applicable, a domicile certificate, a transfer certificate and passport-size photographs. Original documents are checked at the time of reporting, and candidates should keep several photocopies ready. Fee details are available on the fee structure page.
Since counselling dates, seat matrices and eligibility conditions change every year, students should regularly follow the official website and the counselling portals. Those who wish to understand the previous year's closing ranks before choosing branches can read the cutoff analysis.
