Scholarships at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya
Students belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Class categories can apply for the post-matric scholarship schemes of the Government of India through the National Scholarship Portal. The amount and the fee reimbursement depend on the scheme rules and the income ceiling fixed by the government for that year. Students from Chhattisgarh may also be eligible for scholarships and fee-reimbursement schemes announced by the state government.
The Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students supports meritorious students whose family income is within the prescribed limit and who fall in the top percentile of their Class 12 board examination. Postgraduate women who are single girl children can consider the UGC scholarship meant for them, and research scholars may apply for fellowships such as UGC-NET JRF, CSIR-NET and similar national fellowships.
- Post-matric scholarship for SC, ST and OBC students via the National Scholarship Portal
- Central Sector Scholarship for meritorious students from low-income families
- State government scholarship and fee reimbursement schemes for eligible students
- UGC scholarship for single girl child at postgraduate level

To apply, a student must first register on the relevant scholarship portal, upload income and category certificates, marksheets and bank details, and submit the application before the last date. The university scholarship section verifies the application and forwards it to the concerned authority. Delays can happen when documents are incomplete, so it is wise to keep certificates valid and updated. See the total expense on the fees page.
Amounts, income limits and deadlines are decided by the awarding authorities and may be revised every year, so students should read the latest notification on the official portals and university notice board before applying. Even without a scholarship, the modest fee structure of the university keeps the overall education cost comparatively low. Candidates can also look at the admission details.
