Admission to the MBA (IB) and MBA (BA) programmes is CAT-based: IIFT shortlists candidates using their CAT score and other defined parameters, and shortlisted candidates then go through a Group Discussion and Personal Interview, conducted in physical mode at Delhi, Kolkata, Kakinada, GIFT City, and several other Indian cities. Eligibility requires a recognized Bachelor's degree of at least 3 years' duration with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD candidates); MBA (BA) additionally requires Mathematics/Statistics at the graduation level, a B.Tech/B.E. degree, or Mathematics at the 10+2 level. The MA (Economics) programme uses IIFT's own entrance test followed by an interview. Application fees for the MBA programmes are Rs. 3,000 (General/OBC-NCL/EWS) or Rs. 1,500 (SC/ST/PwD/Transgender) for MBA (IB), and Rs. 2,000 / Rs. 1,000 respectively for MBA (BA).
