About India Today Media Institute, Noida (ITMI)
India Today Media Institute (ITMI), Noida was established in 2005 under the aegis of the India Today Group and the tutelage of Group Founder Aroon Purie. Now commemorating over 20 years of academic excellence with a robust alumni network of over 1,200 students, ITMI is the academic arm of one of India's largest media and entertainment conglomerates - whose properties include India Today, Aaj Tak, Business Today and several other news and digital platforms - and provides well-designed, industry-aligned courses in Journalism, Mass Communication, Digital Media & Communication and related short-term training. ITMI's programme portfolio (confirmed via the live official site) spans both institute-awarded diplomas and, increasingly, university-partnered degrees. Under an 'ITMI-Galgotias' partnership, ITMI offers a 2-year Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication (M.A. degree from Galgotias University plus a Professional Certificate from ITMI) and a BA (Hons.) in Digital Media and Communication, also a Galgotias University degree, with classes held at the Galgotias University campus in Greater Noida. Separately, ITMI has a formal academic association (via MoU) with IIMT University, Greater Noida Campus, bringing its one-year Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Media & Communication (PGDDMC) to IIMT University students. Alongside these, ITMI continues to run standalone, institute-awarded Full Time Postgraduate Diplomas in Broadcast Journalism and in Digital Media & Communication, plus a short-term certificate programme in Art of Anchoring & Presentation. ITMI structures its mentoring across three phases - Orientation, Foundation Module, and Domain Modules - exposing students first to the success stories of India Today Group talent, then grounding them in communication, presentation and personality-development fundamentals, before moving into domain-specific expertise backed by the Group's media technology, industry mentors, and hands-on lab/studio training. A defining feature of the ITMI model is a mandatory six-month internship for all diploma/degree students across India Today Group's departments and channels (the Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication additionally requires a 2-month industry/NGO internship ahead of the 6-month media internship). Reported campus facilities include labs, broadcast studios, a library ('Cybrary'), a cafeteria, an auditorium and a conference room; ITMI does not offer on-campus housing but recommends nearby paying-guest accommodation, and the campus has strong metro/bus connectivity (nearest metro: Sector 16, Noida). ITMI reports placing students within the India Today Group itself as well as with major media, news and advertising organisations nationally (see Placements below), and maintains an active Alumni Relations Cell. Admission to ITMI's own diploma programmes is via an ITMI-administered entrance test/interview rather than a public counselling body; eligibility and admission details for the newer Galgotias/IIMT-partnered degree programmes are noted under each course below where confirmed.
