Admission to the two-year PGP at IIM Indore for the 2026-28 batch was based on CAT 2025. Candidates did not have to pay a separate application fee to the institute, because they selected IIM Indore's PGP while registering for CAT on the official portal. The institute follows a three-stage selection process that begins with eligibility criteria, moves to a shortlist for the personal interview, and ends with a category-wise merit list based on a final composite score.

Admission Process at IIM Indore
To be eligible, a candidate must hold a bachelor's degree with at least 50 percent marks or equivalent CGPA, and 45 percent for candidates from the SC, ST and PwD categories. Candidates who have completed CA, CS, CMA or the actuarial fellowship can also apply, and final-year students may join provisionally if they submit a certificate issued on or before June 30, 2026. The mark sheet and certificate deadline for the cycle was December 31, 2026. The CAT cut-offs used in the first stage are summarised on the cutoff page.
- Stage I - minimum sectional and overall CAT percentile cut-offs by category
- Stage II - shortlist for the personal interview using a composite score of Class 10, Class 12, CAT sectional scores, diversity and work experience
- Stage III - final merit list using a final composite score in which the personal interview carries 45 marks out of 100
The Stage II composite score gives 10 marks to Class 10, 25 marks to Class 12, 16 marks each to VARC and DILR, 23 marks to QA, 7 marks to the diversity factor and 3 marks to work experience. The final composite score gives 5 marks each to Class 10 and Class 12, 20 marks to VARC, 10 marks each to DILR and QA, 45 marks to the personal interview and 5 marks to the diversity factor. Because the interview weight is so high, preparation for it matters as much as the CAT score.
Interviews are held in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata and Mumbai, or in online mode depending on the situation. Reservations follow Government of India norms, with 27 percent for NC-OBC, 15 percent for SC, 7.5 percent for ST, up to 10 percent for EWS and 5 percent for persons with benchmark disabilities. Candidates must also meet the minimum performance in every interview parameter to be considered for the final stage. Applicants can read about costs on the fees page before they accept an offer.
The admissions office can be reached at Prabandh Shikhar, Rau-Pithampur Road, Indore - 453556, by phone on 0731-2439643 or 689, or by email at pgpadmission@iimidr.ac.in. The institute advises candidates to check their email and the website regularly, and it reserves the right to modify the process. The next cycle for the 2027-29 batch will open with CAT 2026, so aspirants should follow the official CAT notifications and the programme details for updates.
