Admission Process at IIM Kozhikode Kochi Campus

BMS Admission

To be eligible for the BMS, a candidate must have completed Class XII or hold a diploma after ten years of schooling in any stream from a recognised board. There is no minimum percentage and no age limit for taking the test. Candidates awaiting results can apply and upload marks later, but original mark sheets and certificates must be produced by the date set by the institute. International students and NRIs are encouraged to apply. Admission is based on the prior academic record, the IIMK BMS Aptitude Test (IIMK BMS AT) and a personal interview.

The IIMK BMS AT is a two-hour, computer-based, multiple-choice test with two sections, Verbal Ability and Quantitative Ability. The Verbal section covers grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension, while the Quantitative section covers number systems, algebra, geometry, mensuration, and statistics and probability. For the 2026 admission cycle the test was held on 19 May 2026 at about 25 centres across India, and calculators were not permitted. The application fee was INR 4,250 for general candidates and INR 2,125 for SC, ST and PwD candidates.

Candidates are shortlisted for the personal interview on the basis of an Aggregate Index Score, which combines the test score, Class XII or diploma marks and Class X marks. Personal interviews are held in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Mumbai and New Delhi, and last about 15 minutes per candidate. The final score uses interview scores, standardised test scores and academic performance, and a merit list is made for each category. IIMK follows the Government of India reservation policy for NC-OBC, SC, ST, PwD and EWS candidates.

MBA for Working Executives

  • A bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA (relaxation for reserved categories)
  • Three years of managerial, entrepreneurial or professional experience after graduation
  • Experience before completing graduation is not counted, and internships or articleship are not counted
  • Selection is based on academic record, quality of work experience, statement of purpose and performance in the entrance test and personal interview
  • Applicants typically take the IIMK entrance test (EMAT); those with a valid GMAT or GRE score or a recent CAT score may be exempted

The statements above reflect the pages of the official website at the time of writing, and dates and conditions are updated each year. Applicants should keep their identity proof, mark sheets and category certificates ready and should check their email regularly, because the institute communicates all admission updates by email. For more details, see the fee structure.
