Admission to B.Tech at IET Lucknow is entirely merit-based. Candidates must appear for JEE Main conducted by NTA and then register for UPTAC (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling) on uptac.admissions.nic.in. Seat allotment is done over multiple counselling rounds based on JEE Main rank, category, and branch preferences. After seat allotment, candidates must physically report to the campus with original documents within 5 days to confirm admission. There is no management quota at IET Lucknow.

Yes, IET Lucknow is a fully residential campus with separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. There are 6 boys' hostel blocks and 3 girls' hostel blocks (with a 4th under construction), accommodating over 2,000 students. Annual hostel fee is Rs.14,500, with an additional Hostel Management Charge (HMC) of Rs.4,000 per year. Mess charges are approximately Rs.34,000 per year. Hostels are solar-powered, Wi-Fi enabled, and equipped with 24-hour power backup, TV, water purifier, water cooler, and games equipment.

Based on 2025 UPTAC counselling data, the B.Tech CSE (General, Home State quota) closing rank was approximately 55,703 in JEE Main. The B.Tech CSE – Artificial Intelligence branch closed at around 35,388 (Round 1, General HS). Cutoffs vary each year depending on the total applicant pool and difficulty of the JEE Main paper. SC/ST and OBC candidates have relaxed cutoff ranks as per UP Government reservation norms. Candidates are advised to check the official UPTAC website for the most current cutoff data.
