Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH), established on 12 October 2009, is the 4th government medical college in Assam, serving Upper Assam and adjoining regions. Foundation stone laid by PM Dr. Manmohan Singh on 25 August 2008; hospital wing inaugurated by CM Tarun Gogoi on 12 October 2009. Located at Swahid Kushal Konwar Path (NH-37), Barbheta, Jorhat – 785001. Affiliated with SSUHS; NMC recognized. 125 MBBS seats. 94 PG seats in 19 departments (MD/MS). Also offers ANM, GNM Nursing, and Paramedical courses. 207 teaching faculty, 556 non-teaching staff. Hospital: 964 total beds (including 163 ICU beds in 9 specialized ICUs: MICU, SICU, RICU, ICCU, SNCU, ITU, HDU, PICU, Neuro ICU). 1,200+ OPD daily. Cardiology, Nephrology, Neurosurgery services available. Annex hospital: Titabar SDCH. Serves 1.2 million+ people in Jorhat, Golaghat, Sivasagar, Majuli, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh.
