BAMS – Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery

The BAMS programme at KBS Rural Ayurveda Medical College is a 5.5-year professional degree: 4.5 years of academic coursework divided into three professional phases of 18 months each, followed by a mandatory one-year rotating internship at the attached K.B.S Rural Ayurveda Hospital. The curriculum spans 14 academic departments including Ayurveda Samhita & Siddhanta, Rachana Shareera, Kriya Shareera, Dravyaguna Vijnana, Rasa Shastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana, Agada Tantra, Swasthavritta, Rognidhan & Vikrit Vijnana, Kayachikitsa, Shalya Tantra, Shalakya Tantra, Kaumarabhritya, Prasuti Tantra & Stri Roga, Panchakarma, and Mano Vijnana Avum Manasa Roga.

The 40 annual BAMS seats are distributed across the 15% All India Quota (AACCC counselling, Ministry of AYUSH), the State Quota (KEA Karnataka counselling), and the Management Quota. Only Karnataka-domicile candidates are eligible for state quota seats.
