Scholarships & Financial Aid at Loyola Academy
Scholarship and Aid Options
- College merit and need-based scholarships - typically Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 per year
- Concessions for sports performers and minority (including Christian) students as per college norms
- NSP (PM-USP) Yojana - Rs. 82,000 per annum for eligible students with 80% in Class 12 and parental income up to Rs. 4.5 lakh
- UGC National Scholarship for Postgraduate Studies for first-time PG students under 30
- Telangana ePASS post-matric scholarships and fee reimbursement for eligible state students
The National Scholarship Portal scheme, known as PM-USP Yojana, provides Rs. 82,000 per annum to students who scored at least 80% in Class 12, are enrolled in a recognised regular UG or PG course and come from families with an annual income of up to Rs. 4.5 lakh. To continue receiving the scholarship, students must maintain at least 50% marks and 75% attendance. Eligible postgraduate students can additionally apply for the UGC National Scholarship for postgraduate studies, meant for first-time PG students under the age of 30 in full-time UGC-recognised programmes.
Students from Telangana belonging to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, backward classes, economically backward classes, minorities and differently-abled categories can also apply for state post-matric scholarships and fee reimbursement through the ePASS portal, subject to income limits and eligibility rules notified by the state government. Fees at the college can be paid annually or in instalments from the second year onwards, and financial aid is also extended to economically disadvantaged families on request.
Students should apply for external scholarships as early as possible, because portals such as the National Scholarship Portal and ePASS have fixed windows and require documents like income certificates, caste certificates, bank account details linked with Aadhaar, and previous mark sheets. The college office and departmental coordinators guide first-year students through the application and verification steps, and forward applications to the concerned authorities within the notified deadlines.
Because eligibility rules, amounts and deadlines for government schemes are revised every year, applicants should always check the latest notifications, and see how each scheme interacts with the programme fee structure before finalising their budget.
