At approximately ₹1,86,000 per year, MAIT's B.Tech tuition fee is modest compared to many private engineering colleges of comparable standing, but it remains a significant financial commitment for families. The good news is that eligible students can access a meaningful set of scholarships and financial aid schemes that can reduce this burden substantially - in some cases to near zero. Knowing what is available and applying early is the key.

Making MAIT Affordable: Scholarships and Financial Aid

The most impactful scheme for eligible students is the Delhi Post-Matric Scholarship, administered by the Delhi government for SC, ST, OBC, and Minority students who are Delhi domicile holders. This scholarship provides full reimbursement of tuition fees, which effectively makes MAIT's B.Tech programme free of direct cost for qualifying students. Applications must be submitted through the National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in) and renewed annually - missing the annual deadline can result in losing the year's benefit, so calendar management matters.

The MATES Trust runs its own merit scholarship programme that rewards students who secured top IPU CET or JEE Main ranks at the time of admission. Awards of up to ₹75,000 are available for the most meritorious entrants, providing a direct recognition of academic achievement that also helps offset the first year's costs. The Agrawal Community Scholarship, funded by the broader Maharaja Agrasen community, extends financial support specifically to meritorious students from the Agrawal and Vaishya communities, with awards up to ₹50,000.

At the national level, AICTE's Pragati Scholarship provides ₹50,000 per year to girl students enrolled in AICTE-approved technical programmes - MAIT's approval makes all female B.Tech students at MAIT eligible to apply. The AICTE Saksham Scholarship extends the same support to students with disabilities. Both schemes are available to students of all categories and income levels, making them broadly accessible. Students are strongly encouraged to apply for these national schemes in their first semester, as the application window opens early in the academic year and late applications are not considered.
