Plans are underway to establish a 1,100-bed super-specialty hospital on the USTM campus, covering cardiology, neurology, nephrology, and cancer care. The college also plans to introduce dental education through a future dental college on the USTM campus, named in memory of Dr. Donkupar Roy. PIMC's Mission Charity initiative will continue to provide free or subsidized care to economically disadvantaged patients across Meghalaya.
As per the Government of Meghalaya's official notification for AY 2024-25: State Quota fee is โน4,95,000 per year (total โน24,75,000 for the 5-year MBBS program); Management Quota fee is โน18,00,000 per year (total โน90,00,000); NRI Quota is USD 2,00,000 for the entire course. Fees are interim and subject to revision by the State Level Fee Determination Committee.
Yes. PIMC, established in 2024 and approved by NMC on 26 October 2024, is the first and only private medical college in the state of Meghalaya. It is named after the late P.A. Sangma โ a celebrated Garo statesman and former Lok Sabha Speaker โ and was established under the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM).
PIMC is located at 9th Mile, Baridua on the Assam-Meghalaya border, approximately 15 km from Guwahati Railway Station and 30 km from LGB International Airport, Guwahati. This makes it one of the best-connected medical campuses in Northeast India for students travelling by rail or air.
