Jawahar Lal Nehru Government Medical College (GMC Chamba), established in 2017, is a government medical college in Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh – one of the most remote and scenic districts in the state, situated on the banks of the river Ravi. Named after India's first Prime Minister, the college is affiliated with AMRU (Atal Medical & Research University), HP and recognised by NMC. The 27.45-acre campus features the main medical college building, a teaching hospital, staff quarters, resident doctor hostels, and separate boys and girls accommodation. The attached Chamba District Hospital serves as the primary teaching hospital, providing healthcare services to the population of Chamba district and surrounding areas. The college admits 120 MBBS students annually (15 AIQ + 102 State Quota) and is progressively developing its PG programme – MD/MS courses in General Medicine and Orthopaedics commenced in the 2025-26 academic year as per NMC approval.
