Sagar Institute of Technology & Management, Department of Pharmacy (SITM DOP), established in 2007, is a leading private pharmacy institution located at the Sagar Group of Institutions campus on Ayodhya Road (Faizabad Road), Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. Academic Programs at SITM DOP cover every level of pharmaceutical education. The Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) is a four-year undergraduate degree with 100 seats, providing a thorough foundation in pharmaceutical sciences. B.Pharm Lateral Entry is available directly to the second year for eligible D.Pharm diploma holders with 60% marks. The Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) is offered in two specializations — Pharmaceutics (6 seats) and Pharmaceutical Chemistry (9 seats) — for graduates seeking advanced research or industry roles. The Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm), a two-year program with 60 seats affiliated to BTE, provides an entry pathway into the pharmacy profession after 10+2. Infrastructure at SITM DOP is built to fully meet PCI norms. The institute houses 20 well-equipped laboratories covering Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacology, Human Anatomy & Physiology, Pharmacognosy, and Pharmacy Practice disciplines. A dedicated Central Instrumentation Laboratory is equipped with advanced instruments including UV-Vis spectrophotometer, colorimeter, IR spectrophotometer, and HPLC. The Machine Room houses pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment such as tablet punching machines, capsule filling machines, tablet coating machines, and ampoule washing and filling machines. The Library at SITM DOP is managed through a Windows-based ERP software with a fully barcode-based circulation system. The library holds 7,570 volumes covering 805 titles across subjects including Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology, Human Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, and Mathematics. Students have access to 20 print journals (10 national, 10 international), 24x7 internet connectivity, and a dedicated reference section. The institute also publishes its own biannual journal — Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical & Herbal Research (ISSN No. 2320-2564) — fostering research culture among students and faculty. The Pharmacognosy Laboratory maintains a Herbal Garden with 73+ species of medicinal plants growing under supervision, including several threatened and endangered varieties, giving students rare live botanical exposure. Sports & Recreation facilities at SITM DOP include a cemented basketball court, lawn tennis court, volleyball court, shuttle badminton court, football court, cricket court, an athletic field, and a gymnasium. Scholarships at SITM DOP include merit-based waivers of 10% to 25% of tuition fees for students scoring above 80% in Class 12, annual Shri Sagar Memorial Awards for university toppers, and a Fee Waiver Scheme reserving 10% of B.Pharm seats for Women, EWS, and Physically Handicapped candidates.
