The School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi, popularly known as SPA Delhi, is one of India's most prestigious and historically significant institutions for education in architecture, planning, and design. Established in 1941 — first as the Department of Architecture of Delhi Polytechnic — SPA New Delhi has been declared an Institution of National Importance by the Government of India under an Act of Parliament, Ministry of Education. As a Deemed University, SPA Delhi has complete academic and administrative autonomy. The institute is accredited by NAAC and is approved by the Council of Architecture (COA), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), and the Commonwealth Association of Architecture (CAA).
