About Shakuntla School & College of Nursing
Shakuntla School & College of Nursing was founded in 2016 by Dr. J. Raj Dhami, built on the legacy of Shakuntla Hospital (established 1988 by the same founder). Spread across 4 acres in Jaunti, outer North West Delhi, the institution began with the Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) course at 20 seats, added General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) in 2018 at 20 seats, and introduced the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Nursing in 2022. All three programmes have since been expanded, and each now carries an annual intake of 50 seats as confirmed in the Indian Nursing Council's 2024-25 suitability renewal letter. The college is recognised by the Indian Nursing Council (Institution Code 091105) and the Delhi Nursing Council, and its B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing programme holds provisional affiliation with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), renewed each academic session. B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing admission is restricted to unmarried female candidates who qualify the NEET/CET GGSIPU examination; ANM admission is also restricted to female candidates; GNM is open to all eligible candidates. The campus includes a Nursing Foundation Lab, Community Health Nursing Lab, Nutrition Lab, Anatomy & Physiology Lab, Maternal & Child Health Lab, Advanced Skill Lab, Computer Lab and a library. Clinical postings are conducted at government hospitals including Guru Gobind Singh Govt. Hospital, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, Shri Dada Dev Matri Avum Shishu Chikitsalaya, Janakpuri Super Speciality Hospital, World Brain Center Hospital, and a Rural Health Training Center established in 1937.
