The college was established in 1963 by Saint Shri Balaramdasji Maharaj, though its roots trace back to 1942 when the Saint first established a Temple and Aushadhalaya under the name Shri Balahanuman Ashram.
The college offers only the undergraduate Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) programme.
The current officially permitted intake is 35 seats, as confirmed on the institute's own course page. Note that some older third-party sources cite a historical figure of 60 seats, which may reflect an earlier academic year's intake.
Unlike most Ayurveda colleges, this institute provides free lodging, boarding, and clothing to its students as part of its founding charitable mission to serve economically weaker sections of society, alongside their Ayurvedic education.
