SGMSAM is a private Ayurvedic medical college established in 1992 and located on Washim Road, Pusad — 445204, District Yavatmal, Maharashtra. It is a constituent unit of the Shri Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan — a public charitable trust in Pusad — and was established with the sanction of Late Shri Sudhakarrao Naik, then Chief Minister of Maharashtra. It offers BAMS (50 seats), is affiliated with MUHS Nashik, recognised by NCISM, and managed under the chairmanship of Shri Radheshyam Jangid. The current Principal is Dr. Bhausaheb Patange.
SGMSAM has 50 annually sanctioned BAMS seats. Admission is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra (MAHCET) through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP): 85% seats (approximately 43) are State Quota seats filled through Maharashtra CAP Rounds on the basis of NEET UG merit; 15% seats (approximately 7–8) are Institutional Quota seats filled on an All India basis through Competent Authority CAP rounds, open to OMS, NRI, and OCI candidates. No direct or off-counselling BAMS admission is permitted.
SGMSAM has its own 60-bed Ayurvedic teaching hospital on campus at Washim Road, Pusad. The hospital offers fully functional OPD and IPD services across all major clinical departments, a fully functional Operation Theatre for surgical procedures, and a well-equipped and authentic Panchakarma unit for classical detoxification and rejuvenation therapies. The BAMS 1-year compulsory rotatory internship is conducted at this hospital.
