Eligibility and Income Limits

Eligibility under the post matric schemes depends on the annual income of the student's parents. For SC candidates the parental income should not be more than Rs. 6.00 lakh per annum, and the same limit applies to ST candidates. For OBC candidates the limit is Rs. 3.00 lakh per annum. For minority scholarship candidates and for the Central Sector Scheme, the parental income should not be more than Rs. 2.50 lakh per annum. The Central Sector Scheme is open to students who have scored above 80 percent in the qualifying examination.

How to Apply

Most of these scholarships are applied for online through the relevant state or national scholarship portal after the student has completed admission. Applicants generally need an income certificate, a caste or community certificate, previous mark sheets, an Aadhaar-linked bank account and the fee receipt issued by the institute. Because the scholarship amount, selection process and dates are decided by the sponsoring authority, students should keep track of notifications and submit their applications before the portal deadline. The institute's administrative office can guide students on the documents and verification steps.

Planning Your Expenses

Tuition at SVIMS ranges from Rs. 40,000 per year for the B.Sc. and M.Sc. programmes to Rs. 80,000 per year for BBA, with the MBA and MCA charged semester-wise, and a refundable caution money of Rs. 1,500 or Rs. 2,000 is payable at admission. Since many scholarships reimburse or support a part of these costs, families should compare the likely scholarship amount against the programme-wise course fees while planning the budget. Students who qualify for more than one scheme should check the rules of each scheme, because some do not allow benefits to be combined. To explore this further, see the course fees.

The hostel and living costs near the campus are additional and should be considered alongside tuition, and students can read about accommodation on the campus facilities page. Finally, candidates who are still choosing between programmes can review the admission process and eligibility conditions so that they apply for both admission and scholarships within the notified timelines. To explore this further, see the campus facilities.
